What Is a PDO Thread Lift?
A PDO thread lift is a procedure that uses Polydioxanone threads, an absorbable suture material, to lift, smooth, and tighten sagging skin on the face, neck, and jawline. These sutures also add youthful volume and stimulate the production of collagen. The threads are inserted through a tiny needle puncture and the skin is carefully attached to them by your plastic surgeon.
3 Types of Thread
A thread lift can consist of three types of thread: smooth, twist, and barbed. Each thread has a different use.
Smooth Threads: This type of thread is used to create a mesh beneath the skin. Smooth threads reduce lines, add volume, and improve skin tone.
Twist Threads: Inserted into wrinkles and folds, these threads fill without the bulkiness of dermal fillers.
Barbed Threads: Barbed threads are used to grab onto the skin along the length of the thread to lift it. These threads provide fuller cheekbones, a defined jawline, and correct sagging in the upper neck.
