The Meridian NI
Under eye bags, malar edema, puffiness after facial fillers, swelling following facial procedures and cellulite are some of the most difficult issues to treat in a cosmetic surgery practice. The one thing that all of these aesthetic problems have in common is that they involve a dysfunction of the lymphatic system. Traditional therapies have been tried for dozens of years but with little or no benefits to patients.
The lymphatic system is a network of vessels in the human body that works to drain infectious and environmental toxins as well as edema, or swelling, of the tissues as a result of trauma, infection or inflammation. Most current methods of lymphatic drainage include massage with mild suction and are only slightly beneficial for these conditions.
The Meridian NI, which is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatments such as Acupuncture, Cupping, Gua Sha (opening the Meridian points) and Quigong (increasing energy and oxygen levels) harmonizes four distinct technologies;
Negative Pressure Lymphatic Therapy: Powerful, but gentle, Lymphatic Drainage is achieved by applying negative pressure in a rhythmic sequence. Lymphatic flow increases and toxins are removed from circulation thereby reducing swelling and inflammation.
Far Infrared Therapy: Invisible, deeply penetrating heat wave energy that is associated with increased circulation and deep detoxification.
Negative Ion Therapy: Naturally occurring charged Oxygen atoms that are found concentrated near waterfalls, forests and beaches. The negatively charged Oxygen atom allows Oxygen transport in the bloodstream to be enhanced. This leads to improved circulation and a decrease in inflammation among other benefits.
Magnetic Vibration Therapy: Magnetic Fields are applied to the body resulting in activation of the natural magnetic impulse. This impulse helps to increase blood flow, decrease swelling and decrease stress on the body.
When performed together during a Meridian NI treatment the combination of these therapies produces profound results. Often used after facial procedures or surgeries to improve circulation and decrease edema(swelling) the device can also be used to detoxify and rejuvenate the skin and to improve conditions linked to lymphatic dysfunction such as cellulite. By combining Eastern medicine practices with Western technology, we have been able to address many common, but previously difficult to treat, cosmetic facial and body issues.
