Qualifying for Injectables Factors We'll Consider
Age
Patients who wish to receive injectable treatments must be at a certain age. The FDA requires patients receiving BOTOX and other neurotoxin injections to be 18 years or older and patients receiving dermal fillers to be at least 22 years of age. Non-Smoker
The ideal candidate for any kind of injection is a non-smoker. The effects of injectables won't last as long on patients who are smokers because tobacco hinders collagen production. If you want lasting results from injectables, we recommend quitting tobacco products altogether. Good Overall Health

BOTOX® Cosmetic from Allergan for Instantly Relaxed Results
Botox facial injections are a popular cosmetic procedure used to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. Neurotoxins, such as Evolus, Botox, and Xeomin block nerve signals in the muscles, causing them to relax and smooth out wrinkles.
Besides the most common areas treated with Neurotoxins, frown lines, forehead lines and crows feet, these injectables can also be utilized in innovative ways. Dermal Fillers for Plumper, Fuller Skin
Dermal fillers won't relax muscles like BOTOX and other neurotoxins. Instead, they use hyaluronic acid or calcium hydroxyapatite to fill in sunken parts of your face, resulting in a plumper, more youthful appearance. These ingredients are naturally found in the body or are highly biocompatible, making them safe to inject under the skin.
Other ingredients can be used in dermal fillers, such as the poly-L-lactic acid used in the dermal filler Sculptra®. Our office does not offer Sculptra, but it's a popular dermal filler many patients reference when they desire smoother skin and results that last. We can use other fillers to achieve similar results.
Which Areas Can Dermal Fillers Refine?
BOTOX targets fine lines and wrinkles created by muscle movement. Dermal fillers target wrinkles made from a loss of collagen. Some areas of concern that dermal fillers can improve include:
Restylane Improves Contours by Filling out Lips, Wrinkles, and Facial Folds
Restylane fills lips, facial wrinkles, and facial folds. This long-lasting clear, biodegradable gel works with your body's natural hyaluronic acid to add volume to the skin, filling in the spaces between collagen and elastin fibers.
The Restylane procedure usually takes less than a half-hour, depending on the size of the area being treated. If you decide to continue the treatment, rest assured that touch-ups will also be as simple and quick.
For patients worried about pain or side effects, choosing Restylane can alleviate those concerns. Patients experience little to no discomfort with Restylane. They can also return to their regular activities immediately after the procedure. The effects of this wrinkle treatment can last from six months to a year, while Restylane lip injections last about six months.

ez PRF GEL A NEW PARADIGM
Regenerative Medicine is described as interventions that harness the power of the human body to repair damaged or aging tissue. By enlisting science and technology aesthetic practitioners can now rejuvenate the skin without invasive procedures, synthetic fillers, chemical additives and abrasives. Now we can use safe radio waves and microneedling, Stem Cells and Peptide Growth factors to substitute for traditional peels, fillers and other harsh treatments.
Autologous Therapy is the engineering of tissue regeneration by utilizing the cells in the bloodstream. When human blood is centrifuged it will separate and yield a compound called Platelet Rich Fibrin or PRF. PRF consists of Growth Factors and Stem Cell precursors that, when released, will slowly release into the target adjacent tissue. If PRF is placed under the skin it will promote the new production of Collagen, Elastin and Hyalorinic acid which will improve skin texture and tone. This translates clinically to reduce wrinkles, plump thin skin, improve skin texture and restore a youthful skin tone.
The EZ Gel PRF procedure is performed in the office and takes approximately 45 minutes. It can be done any time of the year, has very little discomfort and a down time between 24 and 48 hours.
Selphyl: A Safer Solution For Patients Concerned About Allergic Reactions
Selphyl is an all-natural filler that is made from the patient's own platelets.
Platelets contain numerous growth factors that stimulate collagen production, promote improved circulation, and recruit stem cells. The platelets provide a soft, subtle, and immediate volumizing effect as the growth factors begin to stimulate new collagen production over a six- to eight-week period.
Results are seen two to three months following treatment and can last up to three years. Dr. Turk has found Selphyl to be particularly effective around the eyes where delicate, thin skin makes camouflaging other fillers extremely difficult. It can refine areas around the eyes, fill hollowness, improve skin texture, and brighten dark circles. Around the mouth, this unique treatment helps smooth out "smoker's lines." Dr. Turk also uses Selphyl to treat shallow depressions due to scarring or skin atrophy.
